Ruth Bader Ginsburg, former Supreme Court Justice, passed away last Friday at 87 years old. She served in the Supreme Court as an associate justice since 1993 when she was appointed by President Bill Clinton.

Throughout Ginsburg’s career, she fought against gender discrimination and for women’s rights, and directed the Women’s Rights Project of the American Civil Liberties Union (oyez.org). She presented a strong voice for gender equality, worker’s rights and the separation of church and state (history.com).

Ginsburg was the court’s second female justice and the first Jewish female justice (history.com).
