Cypress College women’s soccer, volleyball, and water polo teams succeed to pull ahead while men’s soccer struggle to stay in the game.

Women’s Soccer:

The Charger’s women’s soccer team find themselves in good standings mid season. The athletes have showcased their talent with forwards Morgan Patea, freshman, who has scored seven goals and eight assists this season.

They recently placed third in the Orange Empire Conference standings, which secured them a position for future games.

Women’s Volleyball:

The CC women’s volleyball team also earned victories this season by recently scoring two consecutive sweeps. Kayla Owens, sophomore, attracted attention during games averaging 3.56 kills and 2.15 digs per set.

The Charger’s are currently fourth in the Orange Empire Conference standings, along with being ranked twenty fifth in the state. The team is on the right track to end with monumental wins.

Women’s Water Polo:

Our women’s water polo reigned victorious over any team challenging them this season. Throughout the season, sophomore Natasha Velez demonstrated her talent for the sport with a first place rank in the Orange Empire Conference in steals- having 48- and second place in goals scored- scoring 42 goals.

The team is fourth in the OCE and collected wins non-stop throughout the season. If the athletes keep up the victories, it will be a distinguished season for the Chargers.

Men’s Soccer:

The CC men’s soccer have been struggling this season, with few wins behind them. Will the Chargers be able to overcome the challenges games may bring them?

On a positive note, Lorenzo LaViolette, freshman, displayed his motivation on the field, earning himself the first Charger of the Week award earlier this season.
